The Pro-Ject Pre Box S2 Digital is a Swiss Army knife of a DAC/Amp that brings a richness of detail and impact that is immediately noticeable. It has better transparency, sound stage, imaging and volume control compared to the DragonFly DAC which costs around $300 less. The sound can be a little strident in a home audio setting but is very good for CD playback with a good transport. The unit is glitchy and requires an extended warranty.
